Aerial Monitoring
SMART is an aerial monitoring service for environmental protection, emergency management and traffic control that AVIONORD guarantees since 2003.
The service is carried out with a latest-generation Augusta A109 helicopter provided by the local police force and regional management that request the service. The aircraft is equipped with Galileo Avionica surveillance technology expressly requested by AVIONORD.
Smart has three operational sectors:
- Environment – SMART ensures observance of environmental laws: from building violations to deforestation, illegal dumps to pollutant dumping into rivers and lakes, and even hunting and fishing violations.
- Emergencies – SMART's technological equipment allows the helicopter to be used in the search for missing persons and territorial monitoring in the event of floods, fires, avalanches and natural disasters. The special heat-sensing camera allows identification of persons even under scarce visibility conditions, as well as the detection of fire cores and the evaluation of the fire’s extent.
- Traffic - SMART monitors traffic in cities and on major arterial roads.
